Our Story
Scribular began on a Tuesday evening. My partner, a therapist, came home exhausted after seeing clients back-to-back, knowing she still had hours of notes ahead. This wasn't occasional—it was every day. The weight of unfinished documentation was stealing her evenings and spilling into weekends.
We explored existing solutions, but they all required uploading sensitive session recordings to the cloud—an immediate non-starter for someone who took client confidentiality as seriously as she did. Most tools were built by technologists who didn't understand the ethical complexities of therapeutic work.
That gap between what therapists needed and what technology offered became my focus. Using my software development background, I built something different—a tool that keeps everything on your device, with no data ever leaving your computer.
What started as a project for one therapist has evolved into Scribular, but our core principle remains unchanged: client confidentiality and therapist wellbeing should never be in conflict.
